"You know the way to the place where I am going."
John 14:4
"You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!"
Isaiah 26:3
When I read, I often have the tendency to devour massive chunks all at once. I used to go through one (or more) whole books in a day.
I go lots slower now. Especially with scripture....it is so amazingly
rich....
Even a single line can reveal so much and keep me perplexed all at the same time. Perhaps this is why Jesus always spoke in parables...truth does not come in ready-made packages for us. We need to pursue it. We need to consider things more deeply, to ask questions. To turn it over and over in our heads.
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." Matthew 7:7
Don't ask, and you shall not get...
Don't seek, and you shall not find...
Don't knock, and it shall not be opened unto you...
If you don't know what you are looking for, how will you recognise it even if it does pass you by?
