Sometimes, especially when I am sitting still, I look at people - complete strangers - and wonder what their lives are like. What they are thinking of at that very moment. And it always sets me off marvelling. I think of my own life - how do you describe the experience of life? And right here, is another person going through all the same things that I am. I don't mean specific experiences. I mean they are
living. They are
people.
If none of that made any sense, here's what I meant:
I'm amazed at people. I'm amazed at life.I was doing my science literary report earlier this year on terraforming mars. I came across this quote by one of the professors:
"After studying astrophysics and biology and various combinations for years my personal spin is that life is the most interesting phenomenon that we have seen. We look out into the cosmos as we can observe it we see many interesting beautiful things. The red spot on Jupiter, the rings of Saturn, black holes, quasars, galaxies, star forming regions, Orion nebula. We see a lot of interesting phenomena cosmic rays of high energy, but the most interesting phenomena we see is life. We tend to take it for granted because we eat it for lunch and dinner and it's all over the carpet and we vacuum it up and throw it out the door. But still when we actually focus on it, it is the most interesting phenomenon in the universe that we are aware of."
Phenomenon! I think that was the word I was looking for.
(In other news, EXAMS ARE OVER!!!! =D)
