BACK FROM YEAR 10 CAMP!!
[Pics stolen off Em's space - I didn't bring a camera]

Waiting in amphi for activities to start

It was two-pigtail day.
(No, it wasn't official.)
They even brought makeup to camp!! Here's Amelia putting eyeliner on Nat

During tea

Picture Amelia drew during boring lecture
(I love the flying fox)
Camp was really fun! It was called 'Year 10 Study Camp' but we got to do heaps of outdoor stuff...
...Like surfing! It was so fun! Even though I could only stand on the board for like..half a wave, before falling unglamourously off the side. I wanna take surfing lessons now. Me and Jess wanna go to Bali to surf. Guess what the mums said.
Also, I've discovered my hidden talent at archery!...just kidding...that's obviously an exaggeration. But I wasn't bad for a noob, ok! One round my first shot was a bullseye and the subsequent shots went only in the two innermost rings! Can't really believe it maybe it was a fluke...but I'd rather not think that. Haha. I worked out what I was doing wrong so I got bit better towards the end. (Bragging is over now I promise.)
Then there were the standard initiative activites...get your group over a wall, landmines, etc etc. Oh and I went on this massive giant swing! It didn't look so high to me from the ground but it wasn't too freaky in the end.
Indoor stuff was pretty good too...some of it anyway:
Tried yoga...
And pilates...
Learnt massage techniques...
How to get away from rapists...
Formal ettiquette...
Impromptu speech-making...
Study techniques...
Tertiary possibilities...
All very random but vaguely interesting.
We had to write encouraging letters to ourselves about our goals and achievements blah blah blah...you know...what kind of person do you want to be by the time you're year 12? We had to write three of those which they collected and will hand back to us at the end of the first three terms next year...except I'm not gonna be there so I wrote rubbish and left my email address so if anyone opened it they could email me. =b
We had this thing called
Antipodeans (what in the world does that mean?!) which was so good I wished it would go on for a whole lot longer. Basically we had to get into groups of three...with the people in the year that we knew
least, and hang out with them for most of the rest of the time. The speaker could have named the activity
Seeing the Value, to make the title less complicated, cos we were to tell each other (strangers) the value we saw in each other. Really strange...strange but good. Then it was opened up to the floor. People stood up and expressed appreciation and respect for someone not in their 'group' - people they hardly even talked to. Really amazing to see the opinions strangers have of one another and how boundaries break down just like that...
There's quite a bit more I could say about camp but I think this is sufficiently long. Going out soon so...till next time! Muah.
