he showed me what it was to cry
back from year 9 camp. to sum it up: IT SUCKED. i had so expected australian outdoor to be better than pulau ubin. man was i disappointed. like i was looking forward to rowing again and what did we get? some pathetic little pond. everyone was like - row, crash, untangle from reeds. row, crash, untangle from reeds. IT WAS SO, SO SAD.
haha fine. maybe it wasn't
that bad. it was just crap camp organising. the place was still beautiful. esp at night - there were so many stars. it was perfect except it was too, darn, cold. especially at the campsite (we spent 2 nights in the cabin and 2 nights in tents a long walk away). i wore 3 layers top and bottom and i still froze. my friend told me i was talking in my sleep, going 'help..i'm frozen'. pretty funny shit. hahah.
oh yeah and you know how there're all these nice scenic pictures on postcards? the campsite had that kind of postcard-picture except that when you look down at the grass, it's FULL OF DRIED-UP COW SHIT. well now we know what they don't show us huh.
besides being the worst-organised camp i've ever been to, it was the fattiest, and the slackest. 6 meals a day: breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner+dessert, supper. for the first time during a camp i just didn't wanna eat. it was just too much man. oh but on the first night we got to watch How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days. i love that movie!! haha. it was hilarious. i reckon i was the only one who hadn't seen it but everyone still loved it anyway. all walked out going 'you're so vain...i bet you think this song is about you, don't you, DON'T YOU?'
other than canoeing, the other activities were really fun. esp giant swing. man i'm such an adrenaline junkie i tell you. went on the flying fox thing twice - it was massive and it went over a lake. very cool. we had rockclimbing too and man - that wall was so much harder to climb than the rgs rockwall. when i finally reached the top and came down my arms were aching like shit. they're still aching now man. along with my shoulders my legs and my butt. argh all that running. but it was fun i guess. much needed exercise.
missed birthdays during camp: happy birthday to
ivan (31st aug) and
elissa (1st sept), not that i reckon either of you will catch this. *sigh* i need more viewership man.
oritey i gotta go now. going out soon. byeee.
